Where in the World #22

Thanks for the guesses!  #21 is The Hague, Netherlands.

#22 – For this one, you either know it or you don’t.

This is the world’s smallest independent state, both in area and population (821 people).  It is landlocked with a wall separating it from the neighboring country.  It is ruled by a non-hereditary, elected monarchy.  The state has no diplomatic service of its own and embassies to this state are located in another country’s capital city.  The state has a non-commercial economy.

  1. Vatican City! Keep putting Italian ones up and I’ll keep getting them right and feeling smart :) I mailed a postcard from Vatican City, and it’s obvious that that’s the thing to do because there are lots of mail slots around St. Peter’s.

So you would be working for Vatican City?

  3. The Vatican! I lost a trivia game once not knowing the smallest country in the world. NEVER AGAIN!

  7. Oh and I had the best Claire Moment in regards to the CN Tower. Okay, so I’d just guessed on your blog and been proved wrong. I’d never heard of the CN Tower but went away from the computer with this newfound knowledge. And then I turn on the TV to HGTV, and it’s the show House Hunters. I watch for a minute or two as a couple tours this nice apartment with a balcony, and just before switching the channel, the potential homebuyer says, “It’s got a great view of the CN Tower from here.” And I wanted to shout out, “You’re in Toronto!” But I didn’t.
