Where in the World #6

The answer to #5 was Nicosia, Cyprus. Good job on guessing!! We would learn Turkish for this post so we would get to be in DC for a bit.

For the next possibility…

The main avenue in this capital city forms the shape of a bird body. Carnaval is a holiday time when school is closed. The city was inaugurated on April 22, 1960. The country had two previous capitals, both along the coast. Although it is the capital, it is only the 4th largest city in the country, with around 2.5 million people.

This is actually one of our top picks!

c’mon…why don’t you just say home country of historically the most dominating futbol club?? too bad the capital is no longer along the coast…that would be nice.

we have to get on the ball with this voting thing…just a couple of days and we are behind! :)

the answer is Brazil, by the way…capital Brasilia. i think the big clues are carnaval and one of your top picks

  7. At the risk of being wrong again, I am going to guess Brasilia, Brazil. I remember having a a college class at TTU over the phallic architecture of their national government buildings, although I suppose thats not something they advertise!

  13. Jonathan, you better get guessing if you ever expect to visit us. Having a new baby is no excuse for not checking our blog. It should be part of your daily routine: change diaper, give bottle, check blog, change diaper, give bottle, etc

Seth, didn’t you take a semester of Portuguese? Didn’t you include that on a resume one time? Wasn’t that a great big stretch of your fluency?

i figured having a baby sort of put us in another class for visiting you guys….i think i’ve heard of things like this being done before…someone is in the mass class, so they take some spanish classes and get put in a different category…sounds quite familiar :)

throw in a couple of votes + BABY + all-round awesome people = certain pick
