Bogota Info

During our research of Bogota, it’s been really hard to find good internet sites on the city, even if they’re in Spanish.  But recently we came across a couple of great map sites that we thought you might be interested in.

The first is a map where individuals can add locations on the map that they think are important.  It’s great for us because it shows landmarks we might be interested in, like the country club. :)

The second is a map that the city of Bogota has created.  It’s similar to something like Google Maps but it’s in Spanish.

We don’t know where we’ll be living, but feel free to search around.

Random Bogota trivia: Bogotá has the highest quality as well as the most expensive potable water in Latin America.

  1. Here’s another map tip I just learned at teaching workshop on Friday: Google Maps now has a service called My Maps (a tab you can click on once your in Google Maps) that allows you put “pins” on important places on the map and then upload photos or videos (from desktop or youtube or anywhere) so that when you click on that “pin,” you can actually see any information you’ve added to it. So to use it once you’re at My Maps, click on the link “Create New Map” and the little “pin” symbol and others will appear on the map. You can name the map whatever you like and zoom in and pins. And you can make as many “My Maps” as you like. It’s pretty cool.
